Pehaps the kindergarten teacher has sent home too many phonics readers…

May 2, 2007

“Dan, Dan,” says Mom, “That ham is not the cat’s ham.”

Mom slams her hand on Dan.

“No, no Dan, that can of spam is banned.”

And Mom slams her hand on Dan. Dan lands in the sand.

“Rob, Rob — do the job and stop the sob,” says Mom.

“And what is that glob on the cob?”

Rob lobs the cob at Mom.

Mom lobs the cob at Rob.

Abby is crabby. And grabby of the ham and cob.

Mom crabs and sobs.

OMG, I could do this for hours….

These are fantastic, Beth. I haven’t been here for a while b/c I’ve been treading water to keep afloat with Tom in school, so I really enjoyed catching up just now. You poetry is, as always, EXQUISITE. For God’s sake, WRITE SOME MORE!!!

I am praying for you and your mom…

Thanks for your prayers! They are much appreciated. And thanks for the poetry compliments. Poems seem to be coming, strangely, because I’ve felt so distant from poems for quite a while.

I miss you! I know your life is nuts (well, mine too), but it would be wonderful to get together for coffee (or a drink :D) sometime before the kids get out of school and everything hits the fan (in a good way, because I like summer — but disposable time goes out the window as you well know!). I’ll have to e-mail you and catch up on the particulars.

Well, but, that’s a GOOD thing that crabby Abby is grabby of the ham and cob because HEY! Protein AND vegetable, if a starchy one! That’s a pretty well balanced meal for a super picky eater who doesn’t like to eat in the first place.
